A frightened pregnant 16 year old girl is home in her bathroom trying to perform an abortion on herself by inserting a wire hanger and plastic into her body to pull the fetus out when suddenly the bathroom door violently bursts open and her mother quickly yanks the hangar and plastic out of her daughter’s body and stops this abortion and yells at the top of her voice, “God is going to use this child!” and this child’s life was spared. Then on September 24, 1955, in San Francisco... I was BORN!
Then fast forward 17 years later to one August evening in 1973. I was outside of my home around midnight staring up at the stars above, when one bright star caught my attention as it twinkled. In that very instant the black sky ripped open like paper being torn in two revealing a blinding white light. As the sky peeled back from the center like two ancient writing scrolls rolling back as the edges burned away with fire, suddenly... the face of JESUS CHRIST appeared, filling the entire sky and universe!
Frightened beyond imagination I immediately fell flat on my back under the power of his glory! Then Jesus pointed his huge hand with his index finger to me, almost touching my nose and shouted with a voice that shook the heavens, “YOU!!!”. I screamed back frightened, “What God? What do you want?” He continued to point His finger and shouted, “I WANT YOU!”
I immediately thought of the Uncle Sam poster but when I felt his voice like a flood of waters rushing through my very being as if my body was a screen, I was terrified and knew this was the Lord! I screamed back even louder, “Please don’t kill me God, I’m sorry, I’m sorry I didn't believe. What do you want?” He shouted, “YOU!!!”, and then vanished. I was 17 years old when I met Jesus face to face.
A month later on September 24, my 18th birthday, I flew to Hollywood with a recording contract in hand but God had other plans and on that day on Hollywood Blvd and Vine St, I heard the plan of salvation, asked Jesus to forgive me and to come into my heart… and I walked away from Hollywood and my dreams of being a Rock Star!
So Franco brings in a spiritual side to the marketplace and business world being an ordained minister for over 40 years, involved as music director/musician with Non-Denominational churches as well as having his own music ministry known as the “Tower of Power/Santana Christian Band” called "Masada" for many years.
Franco Masada’s specialty is producing, whether it’s live music events and recording productions to clothing lines and custom wardrobes, he brings 40 plus years of business experience and acumen in the entertainment industry in production, public relations, promotions & management.
On a special note, Franco produced the historical 40th anniversary concert of “Sly & The Family Stone" on 07/07/07 in the San Francisco Bay Area including Average White Band & Jorge Santana. (see video below)
As an accomplished musician and record producer, over the years his recordings have featured former members from legendary bands such as Santana, Malo, Tower of Power, Edgar Winters, Dio, Sly & The Family Stone and Michael Jackson.
Formerly a successful clothing designer, establishing clothing lines and wardrobe consulting to hundreds of top celebrities for over 20 years, Franco has worked with the likes of Eddie Money, Tim McGraw, Gladys Knight, Tanya Tucker, Garth Brooks, Whitesnake, Motley Crue and the legendary James Brown.
He is also a seasoned veteran in sales, both in the clothing and advertising industry and was known and regarded as “The King of Sales” by the CEO of Yellow Pages and became their sales trainer and motivational speaker. (see video below)
IMDB credits include composer for the widely acclaimed documentary, “Brother Minister, The Assassination of Malcolm X" and recent acting roles in two new motion pictures with star actor Eric Roberts.
I have had the pleasure of knowing Franco Masada as a friend for over 25 years as well as being a former client of his. I first became acquainted with Franco in Nashville while I frequented Nouveau West, a specialty clothing boutique geared for the entertainment industry that he owned and operated.
His success in the clothing industry was very clear to me, seeing his savvy sense of fashion & style in wardrobe coupled with his magnetic personality in dealing with hundreds of major celebrities for many years, only to be accented with a superb business mind for public relations and promotions.
We have had many fun times together in radio shows, news interviews, filming television commercials as well as being my special guest backstage at many of my concerts across the country such as Nashville, San Jose and Las Vegas!
Franco has my full endorsement and support in all of his new ventures in film, music and fashion of which he has proven to be successful in so many ways. I believe great things are in store for him and am happy to say he is my friend!
